    Learning Outcomes

On completion of this course you will be able to...

    • 1Identify key reservoir fluid properties from surface and down-hole measurements and explain their application in production operations
    • 2Explain the concepts of nodal analysis (inflow and outflow performance) for flowrate prediction and the effect of sensitivity variables. Appraise the selection and operation of key artificial lift techniques
    • 3List the key types of production data that are measured and collected and used in production surveillance, allocation and optimisation
    • 4List the principal types of formation damage and their treatment. Compare and contrast the various well intervention and stimulation techniques available for production wells
    • 5Analyse the various threats to well integrity and flow assurance in production and injection systems and identify the associated key maintenance strategies
    • 6Explain the mechanisms and the methods of control for the various forms of corrosion prevalent within the oil and gas industry including the appropriate selection of materials
    • 7Describe the objectives, options and layout of surface production facilities for onshore and offshore fields. Explain the selection, sizing and operation of primary separation systems
    • 8Identify the main equipment types used in the treatment of oil, water and gas to meet export specifications and explain their operation
    • 9List the primary components and function of the various transportation systems required to export oil, gas and water
